Ballard
Located in northwestern Seattle, Ballard has become an extremely popular neighborhood over the past several years. It’s home to more restaurants than one can count, locally owned shops, bars, and craft breweries, many which are located on historic Ballard Avenue. Salmon (but mostly boats) pass through the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, which make the Locks a popular spot for sealions looking for a snack, and humans looking for a lesson on how to reach the Puget Sound from Lake Union. The beach at Golden Gardens Park offers one of the best sunset views in the city, along with plenty of beach on which to play volleyball, sunbathe, or cozy up by a bonfire after dark. The newer Nordic Heritage Museum is an exciting addition to the neighborhood.
